When Strides for Peace launched this year’s Race Against Gun Violence, they were confident participants would be able to gather in Grant Park to celebrate community organizations and run along the beautiful downtown lakefront, together. Even more so, after these past grueling months, they know how much people craved the opportunity to be together – to lift our collective spirits and bring out the best in our city. Moving the RAGV to an all-virtual format was the last thing they wanted to do. But after consulting with communities, race and health partners, they believe it is the right this to do. With COVID-19 cases and concerns about the Delta variant on the rise, schools reopening, and so many attendees living in and serving in communities with the lowest vaccination rates, they do not want to put people at risk. You still have several options for the race this year:
- 2 Mile Walk
- Tots for Peace Sprint (Ages 2-10)
