The Community Engagement Coordinator will serve as a critical point of connection between the Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities and Chicago neighborhoods with a focus in Belmont Cragin, Hermosa and surrounding communities. These neighborhoods are selected based on infant, child and adolescent health data and Lurie Children’s potential ability to address the public health needs identified by those living there. The Community Engagement Coordinator will ensure that our key neighborhood-level partnerships are as effective and impactful as possible. This position will coordinate and support neighborhood-level initiatives, represent Lurie Children’s in various community events, meetings and coalitions, help connect Lurie Children’s clinical and public health experts with community partners, and identify community engagement opportunities for employee/physician volunteers to strengthen partnerships and improve child and adolescent health.
