Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago has developed a Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP) to offer culturally relevant and trauma-informed therapeutic treatment for children and their families who are victims of violence.

The HVIP team staffed by one full-time clinical social worker and one part-time clinical social worker, will act to engage children and families in the HVIP within 72 hours of first being seen at the Lurie Children’s Emergency Department, Inpatient Unit, and/or Outpatient Clinic where an injury and/or symptom is concerning for violence.

For additional information, view our HVIP Flyer.
