Brit Johnson

Manager, Violence Prevention Initatives

Brit is a public health professional with a passion for advocacy, especially for the protection of vulnerable populations. She most recently served as the Manager of Health Policy and State Legislative Affairs at the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R). In this role, she led a variety of initiatives related to pain management and opioid use disorder, promoting the use of clinical practice guidelines, increasing patients’ access to care, and efforts to advance organized medicine. Prior to her role at AAPM&R, she served on the SCY team as a student intern turned program assistant. She is thrilled to rejoin the SCY team. Brit earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health Promotion from Purdue University and her Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, baking sweets, and singing in the choir.
